The Difference Between Wed-Fit and Non Wed-Fit Rings

The Difference Between Wed-Fit and Non Wed-Fit Rings

A common term used for engagement rings is whether they are wed-fit or non wed-fit. This refers to the height of the stone setting, or head, from the finger and whether a standard round wedding band can sit flush against it or if a shaped band may be required.

Firstly, there is no right or wrong. It’s down to personal preference and how you would like the engagement ring to sit and eventually the wedding ring to sit with it.

A wed-fit ring will have a higher setting from the finger and allow a standard round ring to sit flush next to it, if that is the style that you would prefer. Perfect for someone who wold like to keep things a bit more traditional.

A non wed-fit ring is a ring where the setting sits lower to the finger. Perfect for someone who may be more active and want a ring less likely to to catch. This style, if you would like a ring to sit neatly against it, would require a shaped wedding ring such as a curve or a wishbone. Of course a standard round ring is fine with a non wed-fit engagement ring but there will be a gap.
